Thursday/Friday/Saturday Madness
In addition to all the Pop Montreal festival events and the last Piknic of the season - not to be missed - this is an amazing weekend for music lovers.
I've picked three things that you should definitely check out this week.
Read on my friends!
Tonight is the LuckyMe showcase at Club Lambi with Hudson Mohawke, Machinedrum, Lunice, Ango, Hovatron, and Seb D. If you're not familiar with LuckyMe and its excellent roster, for which Montreal folks make up a large part, you need to learn a thing or two by going to this party tonight and getting a taste of the future.
Friday night, L.A. producer Exile, who'se got one foot deep down in the hip hop scene, and the other in the more laptop-abstract-headphone music beat scene, will be rocking his MPC live on stage at Blizzarts for an intimate performance that will definitely blow some minds. This show is only $5, you don't wanna miss this.
Saturday night, Mount Kimbie, the guys behind one of the best records of the year "Crooks and Lovers" will be giving a live performance at Le Belmont. Not sure how to describe their music to you but I listen to their album every day and it makes me feel like I'm floating on a cloud with little naked angels and I honestly cannot wait to see how it will translate live. I've heard great reviews.
And of course, come to Piknic this Sunday. Last one of the season so you know it will finish with a big bang.
