Come as much as you like, Piknic is only getting bigger!

The last stretch of the season comes in like a lion with Piknic’s awesome triple Labour Day punch. To celebrate Ninja Tune’s 20th anniversary, Piknic will be hosting guests from this renowned label on Saturday the 4th. All eyes will be on Toddla-T (podcast here), who, despite his youth, has already chalked up an impressive resumé, including the production of Diplo & Switch’s first album (Major Lazer). The must-see Ghostbeard is back at Piknic after a winter stop at Igloofest, where he ripped up the stage with an amazing set. Steinski and Shuttle (mix here) will also be in attendance and ready to leave your ears ringing. And it doesn’t stop there! Come discover Beat Market, winner of the 2009 Euterke Grant that recognizes up-and-coming talent in electronic music. For those less inclined to shake to Ninja’s beat, the Scène STM presents a comfortable alternative with Simon Apex, Nimalan Yoganathan and Dorobo.

On Sunday the 5th, Christian Pronovost will kick off a most patriotic Piknic - with exclusively Canadian artists. We are thrilled to pay tribute to the work of the owner of the late record store INBEAT, a Montreal institution that closed its doors in July. Hakim Guelmi will be there to give you a wonderful mix of techno/tech-house/minimal. The Scène STM will simultaneously present Recerpteurz: two guys whose keyboards, gadgets, and beats will make you soar! They will be followed by Scott C., one of the creators of The Goods night at the Sala Rosa (the last Saturday of every month). As dessert on the main stage, one of the Montreal public’s greatest legends, Misstress Barbara, will ring in the event’s finale at 6pm. Don’t be afraid to go crazy - but save a bit of juice, because the following day, on Monday the 6th, Berlin’s Techno Queen Ellen Allien will come to close this exceptional triple salute accompanied by Sascha Funke and Kiki, two of her colleagues from BPitch Control. But that’s not all! Français Oxia will also make an appearance under the Calder, and the guys from Busy Tones promise to get your booty shaking to the sound of their dynamite set. Finally, MMdM’s seven bad boys claim to be the masters of the Scène STM at 3pm.

Did we hear a phew? It didn’t come from us!

**IMPORTANT**
In light of the Montreal Marathon, which takes place this coming Sunday, September 5th, from 8am to 3pm, we strongly recommend that you take the METRO (parc Jean-Drapeau station) to Piknic on that day, if you feel like arriving on site before the DJ’s leave. Many roads will be closed to traffic, and driving will be a headache at best.
