A native of Montreal, FancyFhreek’s Martin draws inspiration from a group of Dj’s and producers that includes Plastikman, Sven Väth, Deep Dish, Carl Cox, and Misstress Barbara, all of whom possess styles that have found their way into his sets.  Since 2005, Fancyfhreek has been manipulating vinyl and CDJ’s, and he is currently a resident at Circus Afterhours as well as Salon Pearl, where he also serves as booker and promoter.

Major Lazer is a Jamaican commando who lost his arm in the secret Zombie War of 1984. The US military rescued him and repurposed experimental lazers as prosthetic limbs. Since then Major Lazer has been a hired renegade soldier for a rogue government operating in secrecy underneath the watch of M5 and the CIA. His cover is that of a dancehall nightclub owner from Trinidad and he enlisted the help of long-time allies and uber-producers, Diplo and Switch, to produce his first LP.

First and foremost a musician with 10 years of classical music under his belt, Mossa's instrumental background comes to color his electronic compositions. He released on labels like Cynosure, Mos Ferry, Morris Audio, and has been remixed by supreme producers like Swayzak, Mike Shannon, John Tejada, and Ark. In 2006, he released his debut album Some Eat it Raw on Circus Company, and in 2010 his second Festine followed. With his record label Complot, Mossa is also dedicated to releasing, along with fellow artists, an uncompromising style in house/techno music.

“Round Table Knights have impressed me loads this year, not only playing the best house sets of 2009 but coming with sum really original productions as well,” says Jesse Rose, owner of Made to Play Records, where the group has begun to release their singles. Montreal duo The Gulf Stream takes hip-hop templates and feeds them into the hungry mouth of international bass music. Composed of Kodok (Ivann Uruena) and Archibald Singleton (Jérôme Guilleaume), when they first geared up to jam the pair were a ways off from knowing that they would have such fun playing together. As they grew musically, they forged their sound around a mid-tempo hip-hop, full of subtle samples, melodic synths and powerful basses. Anything goes when it comes to samples. The live set they play is always evolving, full of glitches and as they never stopped jamming, new compositions keep emerging each time they play.

It all began when DJ’s Mr. P and Mister Ed met while working as graphic designers, and soon after started throwing their infamous ‘Nu Ravers On The Block’ parties. Charles Fortier (aka Kressel) first got into electrinic music in the 90s.  Drawn in by the minimal and tech-house scenes, his style, which is at once “techy”, “transcendent”, and “deep”, renders his live performances multi-dimensional and always surprising.  Fortier is also co-founder of the Eresys production team and recording label, which organizes events in Montreal and releases music by Fortier and other local artists.  Since 2009, Kressel has signed his tracks to labels such as Doot Recordings, Aenaria, Power Underground, Move the Masses, Wide Angle, Radioactiva and his own Eresys Recordings.

MadKids are two young dj/producers who have been attracting a certain amount of attention. In less then a year, they already have released two original EP’s instantly supported by industry heavyweights such as Mowgli, Round Table Knights, Cameland Brodinski to name a few.
