Born and raised in Canada’s capital, Math has been the man behind some of Ottawa’s most eclectic electronic music and most street-shaking parties in recent memory. Math fuses bass culture with noise and funk, producing beats that are both infectious and evocative. On stage, his signature live performance style of flailing limbs and fancy fingerwork transforms him into a bouncing hip-hop-electro-dynamo.

He is one of two residents at the bi-monthly Dig. iT. aL Sunday's. A Bass music nights at Blizzarts Lounge on the second & fourth Sunday of every month. The night has been running for three years strong and continues to set the standard in Montréal for Sunday night Bass Music.

In little over a year, this natural born entertainer has taken hold of the electronic beats scene across Canada, Europe and the US, and set ears and heads ablaze with his mixture of beats, bass, and splintered electronica. Taking cues from Autechre, Bangladesh, Dilla, and the Ed Banger clique, Lunice knows exactly how to craft a recipe that makes dance floors bump and bass bins thump. Every once in a while a new producer just smashes their way through into the bigtime. That's what's happening with Riva Starr's sneak-in-and-blow-the-place-up approach. Starr plunders the best in tech house and beeping, burping synth lines to create a dirty, messy dancefloor affair. An act whose influence comes from blogs, wild afterparties, music that works for the kids as well as the cool ubercoolische europeans, Riva seems to have sprung onto the scene fully formed, with ace records for Jesse Rose’s Frontroom and Claude Vonstroke’s Dirtybird.

Florian, is the main component of the F.AN project. In 2008, Florian decided to move to Madrid. There, he found his own musical style and the F.AN project was born. F.AN is a sound with many contradictions, hard and soft, liquid and solid, minimal and subtle... a shelter where sounds are not afraid to be mixed and distorted. 2009 marks the beginning of a new period: the two first EPs are released and the project crosses the pond to Montréal, due to Florian´s inherent constant search of new sounds, places and inspiration.

Djendless (Jean-Sebastien Roux) and dj slap (Sebastien Lapointe) have collaborated on numerous musical ventures in the past decade. For them, the mixing skills of four hands appeared naturally back in 1999, the year they met. Together over the years, they’ve developed eclectic and finely tuned sets that are worked down to the last sound, by which point they’re usually buried under a mountain of records that defy easy categorization.
