One of several aliases for Dortmund sound-artist Martin Juhls, Krill.Minima embodies the more exotically refined side of Juhls’ ambient world. Best known as the producer behind the popular Marsen Jules moniker, which leans toward the emotive classical minimalism of Arvo Pärt and Harold Budd, as Krill.Minima Juhls concocts more brittle ambient dub characterized by its moody hisses and crackles. The alias has so far produced the 2007 albums “Nautica” and “Urlaub Auf Balkonien” as well as a handful of vinyl singles and digital EPs.

First appearing back in 2000 on Swedish tech-house label Maskros, Minilogue’s Marcus Henriksson and Sebastian Mullaert have in the past decade amassed a discography of a few dozen EPs and the highly regarded 2008 double-album “Animals”, which showcased the pair’s talents at upbeat techno minimalism with a headier edge. It’s a distinctive sound that has caught the ears and admiration of many of electronic music’s heavyweight labels, including Cocoon Recordings, Wagon Repair, Mule Electronic, and Traum Schallplatten.

Bringing an offbeat personality and a unique hip-hop DJing style to the often anonymous world of techno, Hamburg’s DJ Kôze has slowly established himself as one of the most distinct and respected DJ/producers on the international scene today. Kozalla began moving toward the inner circle of German techno in 2003, when he recorded his first single for the venerable Kompakt label. 2005’s “Kosi Comes Around” album established him as one of the most talented of Kompakt’s new generation.

The secret of his success is a simple but effective one: Kalkbrenner maintains a steady release schedule that never sacrifices quality for the sake of quantity, and he marries each track with a Sasha-like singular knack for blending bang-on anthemic elements into a decidedly forwardly-looking mnml framework.
