Christian Pronovost's innovative style and unique blend of rhythmic diversity ranks him as one of the most respected leaders, a true veteran & a godfather of the Montreal underground dance music scene. Behind the controls for now 30 years, he's known for his flawless mixes, adventurous sonic manipulation and his cutting edge programming. From 1987 to 2010, Christian maintained a modest notability by running one the city’s institutions INBEAT, a record store, unofficial HQ of local + visiting d.j.'s, the meeting to access the newest sounds. 

Christian Pronovost is currently resident @ Stereo + Velvet, Music Director for Montreal fashion Week and is starting a new label: Lost Heroes Recordings.

It took two years for 22-year-old Hakim Guelmi to transform from a regular raver and fan of E.D.M. to the man behind the decks.  Considering James Holden, Sven Vath, Ritchie Hawtin and Danny Howells as his major international influences, Guelmi’s style has evolved into a bone-chilling dark, hybrid version of Techno, Tech-House and Minimal.  By organizing and promoting events for the Velvet Club since October ‘07, Guelmi has managed to play alongside international talents as Desyn Masiello, Nic Fanciulli, Tom Pooks, and Preach.

Although notorious for her consistently “hard” beats, her music has evolved stylistically from a self-described “funky pumpin’ techno” vibe to one which she feels is more “groovy, techy and minimal”. The flavor of Misstress Barbara’s craft, however, is in perpetual motion as she continually pushes her own artistic boundaries in search of the next unique sound.

In the cockpit of a Russian space shuttle, two epileptic fetuses were attacked by extra-terrestrial radiation.  Taken in afterward by Albator, they were raised to be experts in the art of termites and lasers.  Wandering around Montreal ever since then, Alexis Langevin-Tétrault and Maxime Corbeil-Perron (aka Recepteurz) have been creating a hypnotic and eclectic universe, suspended somewhere between trip-hop, IDM, science fiction, animal documentaries, and electro-garage.

With his DJing roots firmly planted in early nineties hip-hop, Scott C’s love of beats and rhymes leads to musical awakenings in jazz, funk, beats, boogie, broken and the Brazilian spectrum.  The GOODS, a monthly party started in August of 2002 by Scott C and Andy Williams, was created to provide a warm alternative to the average Montreal night out.  Some guests have included Mr. Scruff, DJ Spinna, and Bugz in the Attic. Scott and Andy can be found on Montreal’s CKUT 90.3 FM every Sunday afternoon from 2-4pm for The Goods Radio Show.
