Claire is a radical goddess from outer space. The daughter of a mad scientist and a violinist, she has an endless fascination with the intersections between random objects, performance, and electronic music. As a DJ she is known for her unique underground sounds and creative style of mixing that reflects her quirky sensual nature. A Friday resident at Laïka, she performs regularly across Canada and has also played in the United States, Germany, and Japan.
After having toured the world for the last four year, Parisian pair dDamage returns this year with a brand-new album. “Aeroplanes” synthesizes all the influences of the duo, from fuzz-rock, hip-hop rhythms and the ecstatic plunges of 80’s synth. At once melodic and organic, dDamage does damage to the cliché that niche artists are all about recycling a template of sound. The duo fuse the likes Bomb the Bass, Young Jeezy, Jon Spencer and Krazy Baldhead into one frenzied mix of raunchy electro.
The French duo Nôze is considered at the forefront of the new school of French electronic producers. Composed of Nicolas Sfintescu, who is co-founder of the popular Circus Company imprint, and Ezechiel Pailhès, a classically trained pianist. Nôze serve up a genre-bending fusion of leftfield references, uniting jazz, hip hop, electronica and techno with hammers, duct-tape and whatever else comes into their messy hands. Their live sets are legendary showcases of exuberance, where anything can and does happen. Expect straw hats and striptease!
Having caught the attention of Jesse Rose and Claude Vonstroke, Zombie Disco Squad’s Lucas Hunter and Nat Self fuse house music with Baile Funk, African rhythms, Baltimore, Hip-Hop, and the so-called fidget sound. Influenced by African percussion, foreign languages and jacking music Lucas & Nat were soon traveling around the world touring the states and across Europe. They’ve touched down in clubs such as Fabric in London, Panorama Bar in Berlin and Hive in Zurich all on the back of their popular online mixtapes.
