Q&A with Intoccabile
Grime and Future Garage producer, MC, promoter and DJ, Intoccabile is the owner of Fyutchaflex, a record label and events production company established in 2001 to promote Dark Garage and Grime sounds. For years, he has been pushing a mature, original and homegrown Grime sound, which creatively fuses elements of Birmingham instrumental Grime, neurofunk and minimal techno. Intoccabile releases material exclusively on his label, but there has been a few exceptions, such as a few pieces written under various aliases.

State your name:
My name is Intoccabile...which means untouchable in Italian.
How did you get into this?
A long long time ago... I used to hang out at the DNA record shop (when it was in the back of the Juan and Juanita clothing store on St-Laurent). I would bring Tiga tracks on cd's and beg for feedback, week after week! Jordan Dare gave me my first gig at the Jaï bar and then at the Angel's (Levels night). Double A and Twist were also very supportive (wonder where they are now and what they are doing). I was a flyer boy for 514 productions as well and they really helped me get some gigs back in the day!
What’s your ideal setup to rock a crowd?
Two Numark cdx2 players and a xone62 mixer.
What do you usually bring to a picnic?
Music, food and games!
What’s the first song that made you go crazy?
L-Double - Da Bass 2 Dark, a classic from the nineties!
What song will you never drop?
Don't break my heart / my achy-breaky heart or anything by Right said Fred.
Funniest request you’ve ever gotten?
Disco-house at a dubtechno night... and the boyfriend of the person who requested the song even threatened to beat me up. Good times!
Most memorable DJ experience?
Playing in Tivoli, Utrecht (Holland) with Kryptic Minds, last year! Either that or my first gig in Tokyo!
Biggest fail of your career?
So far, I've had pretty positive experiences!
I say Piknic, you say...Miaow!
